What can be done ....

  1. Parents need to  check their child[children] every other day for approximately 4 weeks due to the life cycle of the louse
  2. When discovered, appropriate treatment is done immediately
  3. All contacts with the affected child in the previous 2 weeks of discovery must be notified
  4. The School Nurse must be notified by the parent to increase awareness of the specific classroom of the occurrance with maintaining the confidentiality of the individual who contracted it.
