The Ridgewood Public Schools and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office will be sponsoring an important presentation for parents and guardians regarding Internet safety for children. This presentation, which is free and open to adults only, will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in the Benjamin Franklin Middle School Auditorium in Ridgewood. The speaker, who will be provided by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, will address critical concerns facing parents and guardians today including:
· protecting children from Internet predators
· harassment and bullying
· viruses and hackers
· financial repercussions of identity theft
I invite you to participate as a co-sponsoring district. If you are interested in being part of this event, please respond by Monday, May 10, and we will send you a flyer to distribute to all of your schools publicizing it. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office asks that you also provide this information to the non-public/private schools in your district. At the request of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, we will be notifying local police departments of participating districts so that they are aware of this important event.
