NJDOE School Self Assessment for Determining Grades Under the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights
Beginning with the September 2011-2012 school year, our school has conscientiously implemented the requirements found in the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act.

During the first three years of implementation of the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act, our school has made progress in addressing and improving harassment, intimidation and bullying and the school climate and culture through activities, educational programs and student †assemblies.

The law requires a Self-Assessment, which we completed last June for the 2013-2014 school year.† Through that assessment we learned that our school has demonstrated
strengths in all areas of the Self-Assessment.† Reflected below are the indicators with the maximum points allowed and Byrdís score:
  • HIB Programs Approaches or Other Initiatives: Max.= 15; Byrdís grade = 15
  • Training on the BOE-Approved HIB Policy: Max.= 9; Byrdís grade = 9
  • Other Staff Instruction and Training Programs: Max. =15; Byrdís grade = 14
  • Curriculum and Instruction on HIB and Related Information and Skills: Max. = 6; Byrdís grade = 6
  • HIB Personnel: Max.= 9; Byrdís grade = 9
  • School-Level HIB Incident Reporting Procedure: Max. = 6; Byrdís grade = 5
  • HIB Investigative Procedure: Max. = 12; Byrdís grade = 12
  • HIB Reporting: Max = 6; Byrdís grade = 6
  • Grade for the School: Max. = 78; Byrdís grade = 76
The Self-Assessment helped our school identify areas for improvement in the
following areas: continued activities to promote a positive school climate.†

Our district and schools plan to further assess strengths and vulnerabilities for learning by conducting a school climate survey during the upcoming year.† The school district and school will be seeking your input in this survey.
